An extremely rare example of retro sci-fi sounding more 1970s than 80s. To this day I’ve found nothing that sounds quite the same as Forever Dilating Eye with the Carpenter synths and the surreal synthetic choir and the almost tribal sounding drums, and then 1966 feels like Tangerine Dream circa 1974 prototyping the psychedelic nightmare vibe of Altered States. This is amazing. Music (and movies) like this make me really proud to be Canadian. Dr. Reality
What I particularly love is how the first three tracks set the pace before releasing the listener into a spaceless never-ending void where the only sense you can use is your hearing. Unable to verify if the terrifying sounds that approach are real or your ears playing tricks on you.
